About TruckerKit
What is TruckerKit?
TruckerKit is a free, independent product comparison site built specifically for OTR and long-haul truck drivers. We compare cab accessories, sleeper gear, and on-the-road essentials side by side so you can make smart purchases without wasting hours on forums or guessing from generic Amazon listings.
Here is the problem we saw: there was no single, dedicated place for truckers to compare gear filtered by what actually matters on the road. Car camping sites do not account for 12V power limits. Generic review sites do not know the difference between a mid-roof and a raised-roof sleeper. Trucker forums have great advice, but it is scattered across thousands of threads.
TruckerKit fills that gap. Every product on this site is evaluated for real truck use. Our signature feature is the 12V compatibility filter — one toggle that shows you only gear that runs directly off your truck's 12V DC outlet, no inverter required. That matters when you are parked at a rest area overnight and do not want to idle your engine or drain your batteries.
Who is This For?
TruckerKit is for anyone who lives and works out of a truck cab:
- OTR and long-haul drivers spending weeks on the road and outfitting a sleeper for comfort, cooking, and rest.
- Owner-operators setting up a new rig and looking for gear that fits their specific truck model.
- Fleet drivers buying personal comfort items — a better mattress topper, a lumbar support, a 12V kettle — to make company trucks livable.
- New CDL holders who have no idea what gear they actually need and want a no-nonsense starting point.
How We Pick Products
We do not list everything on Amazon and call it a day. Every product on TruckerKit meets these standards:
- 12V compatibility comes first. If a product can run on 12V DC without an inverter, it gets priority. Inverter-powered and battery-powered alternatives are included but clearly labeled.
- It must fit real sleeper configurations. We check dimensions against common bunk sizes in the Freightliner Cascadia, Kenworth T680, Peterbilt 579, and Volvo VNL.
- Real driver feedback matters. We read trucker forums, subreddits, and Facebook groups. If drivers consistently report problems with a product, we either skip it or note the issues clearly.
- No pay-to-play. No manufacturer pays for placement on TruckerKit. Product selection is editorial, not sponsored.
Affiliate Disclosure
TruckerKit participates in the Amazon Associates program. When you click a product link and make a purchase on Amazon, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running without ads, paywalls, or sponsored content.
Affiliate commissions never influence which products we list or how we rank them. We link to Amazon search results — not specific product listings — so you always see current pricing and availability.
